Job Description & Purpose

Firespring is looking for a creative director who can lead creative strategy, be a team coach/motivator and communicate clearly between clients and Firespring teams to achieve a collective goal. If you can lead the creative team through crafting powerful storytelling and managing expectations along the way, let’s talk. 

Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead the execution of creative direction and strategies to meet goals through consistent, multi-channel digital marketing, storytelling, brand, engagement and more. This includes translating marketing objectives into clear and actionable marketing campaigns (B2B & B2C) while managing the creative process from brainstorm and conception to implementation and execution. Able to interpret the business goals and data into creative positionings that the team can leap from.
  • Lead, define and guide Firespring’s voice and our clients’ voices as they manifest through overarching campaigns, specific tactics, human-centered UX and overall approach. If it’s to be written, spoken, seen, heard or understood: It will fall under your domain.
  • Be the creative team lead by mentoring the folks responsible for storytelling and content, design and brand, video and social media to deliver against strategic goals and to connect with priority audiences. 
  • Empower the creative team—and when necessary, leverage external consultants and creators—to craft meaningful content that demonstrably resonates with audiences. 
  • Manage team members’ day-to-day workloads, goals, dreams, and development. Foster a positive team culture to promote team health, unlock their full potential and invest in team members’ development and growth.
  • Collaborate with teams across the company to develop creative strategies for our clients while ensuring brand continuity. 
  • Assist the VP of creative in developing systems for meeting creative needs across the organization and driving efforts to ensure all parts are working in concert. 
  • Alongside other Firespring strategists, develop strategies to expand Firespring's reach with key audiences through tactics including collaboration with digital partners, platforms, influencers, community leaders and more. 
  • Stay accountable to the creative team's budget to maximize spend and service priorities.
  • Fosters a culture of creativity, excellence, accountability and results.
  • Stays current with the competitive landscape, emerging trends and customer behavior.
  • Generates new ideas and innovation for: creative execution, customer experience, marketing strategy, work process and execution.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 10 years in creative industries with 5+ years of leadership experience.
  • Ability to lead and inspire a wide range of individuals with varying skill sets.
  • A strategic and growth-minded portfolio that demonstrates forethought and as well as reflection upon meeting and exceeding the creative goals.
  • Expertise in a range of creative and storytelling formats including brand and design, social media, video, web, email, print, digital products and more.
  • Proven track record executing high-impact creative content and campaigns with measurable results to further the goals of an established organization or brand.
  • Exceptional written, verbal and visual communications skills, and the ability to build a narrative across a range of formats.
  • Expertise in collaboration and successful engagement working with multiple stakeholders to develop and execute campaigns and content.
  • Track record of meeting short- and long-term deadlines in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Experience serving in a creative leadership position for a high-profile brand or agency.
  • Strong understanding of current industry trends and creative tools, as well as the need to stay ahead of emerging trends.
  • Adapt creative strategies based on analytics and internal reporting in order to successfully execute campaign strategies and performance.
  • Ability to manage creative vendor execution by communicating clear expectations. 
  • Experience in management and/or mentoring team members.
  • Strong presentation skills accompanied by verbal and written prowess.
  • Skilled at building strong relationships and trust within the creative team and throughout the company.
  • Demonstrates responsibility and accountability for overall performance and flawless execution.
  • Effectively navigates team resources when there are conflicting priorities.
  • Acts as an open and willing resource to team members in assessing ideas and directions.
