As a member of the Firespring IT team, you will be on the front lines of our internal Help Desk, working with every team member and ensuring they have what they need to do their job to the fullest. It's not all cleaning browser caches and wrangling misbehaving printers. You'll be at the helm of enterprise-wide management tools for our team members' technology. As a Help Desk Technician, you'll fulfill a critical role at Firespring by deploying company-wide changes to hardware and software and ensuring we operate securely and efficiently.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • You’ll be the front-lines of and the “face” of Firespring’s Help Desk, building a strong rapport with our users and solving the vast majority of their technology problems. Your ability to do so will make you one of the best loved Firespringers around. ;-)
  • You’ll own Firespring’s fleet of team member workstations, managing and improving every aspect of their use from acquisition to retirement
  • Good understanding of client-server concepts will be needed to help develop and maintain some server applications.
  • Assist in setting up and operating switches, firewalls and wireless networks.
  • Some travel between Firespring’s three offices (Lincoln, Omaha and Council Bluffs, IA) will be required, but most of your support will be provided remotely in the new era of hybrid workforces and you’re ready for that challenge!
  • Work closely with vendors and build relationships with our technical partners.
  • Bringing new technology/ideas to the table. Did you learn about a new technique or resource? We'd love for you to teach us too.


Looking for candidates with experience in some or all of the following disciplines:

  • Strong conceptual understanding of IDP and SSO, workstation policy management and security
  • Networking: Firewall configuration/concepts, VLANs, Trunking 802.1 q, etc
  • SaaS Software Support: G Suite, Office 365, Salesforce
  • Scripting: Powershell, Bash, VBScript, Python

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Systems or Network Administration, Information Systems, a related field or equivalent on-the-job work experience
  • CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar certification is a plus
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
