Job Description

Firespring is serving up a temporary* position on our engineering team for an Applications Engineer to reach superstardom status and migrate LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) applications. The current workload is estimated to take 3 months, depending upon the number of hours per week agreed upon. We’re ISO a self-disciplined lone ranger to drive this mission home with an expert and detailed eye.

This position has “create your own adventure” written all over it. Are you located outside Lincoln but want to be part of the team? You’re in. Want to work from home at 2 a.m. because that’s when you come alive? Cool. Prefer a workspace at Firespring HQ with your team members? We’ve got a nameplate ready. With the right person on board, we are able to be flexible and accommodating to your location and schedule. We just ask that you be available for a weekly touch base with the team.

*Although we’re advertising this as a temporary position, if you’re feelin’ us and we’re feelin’ you, we can talk about making Firespring your permanent home when this project’s complete.

  • Proficient understanding of the LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) software bundle.
  • Proficient understanding of utilizing payment processors via PHP.
  • Basic knowledge of version control systems like Git.
  • Basic knowledge of handling personal information via PHP.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Upgrade LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) applications.
  • Work with devops engineer to configure web and database servers for upgrades.
