Firespring, one of Nebraska’s fastest-growing companies, is looking for a rock star to join our crew. In corporate speak, we provide printing, marketing, software and strategic guidance to thousands of brands, businesses and nonprofits. But nobody gets excited about corporate speak, so here’s the real scoop.

  • Inc. Magazine named us one of 50 honorees nationwide for their inaugural Best Workplaces Award in 2016.
  • Firespring received the 2018 Community Impact Award, which honors companies that go above and beyond through philanthropy and volunteering.
  • In 2014, we became the first Certified B Corporation in Nebraska, joining 2,000+ companies leading a global movement to redefine success in business.
  • Our B Corp status cements our core purpose of leveraging our people, products and profit to do more good.

That’s the skinny on who we are. Now we want to tell you about who we’re looking for.

Job Description

If you’re a designer and your soul sings for print, we’ve got heart eyes for you. You gotta be proficient in preflighting and designing print layouts, and a pro conceptualizing an idea and following it through to the finished product. Some tangible mediums you may work your magic on include direct mail layouts, brochures, brand identity materials, catalogs and signage. You should be comfortable and confident doing two kinds of work: technical print file preparation and fast-turn design projects where you get to flex some creative muscles. There is no design project too small—you consider all design work important and you can be relied on to jump in on anything with heart and creativity.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Prepare client files for print production so our clients’ work is right and on time.
  • Establish a track record of producing work that is well received by our clients.
  • Collaborate with team members to brainstorm solutions for our clients.
  • Manage design details, project deadlines and follow jobs through to completion.
  • Record time spent on projects accurately.

  • Advanced skills in Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat) on a Mac operating system to produce layouts.
  • 2- to 4-year degree in related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Drawing or illustration ability is beneficial.
  • A design portfolio (of client or student work) that demonstrates a solid understanding of design principles, versatility and good design sense.
  • A team-focused attitude, enthusiasm for learning and thirst for experience.

  • 2 or more years of professional design experience is preferred.
  • Understanding of MS Office and Enfocus PitStop is a plus.
  • Variable data programming software and/or USPS Mailing Regulations are a plus-plus.
